Now you get Motorola V3 RAZR phone free with T-Mobile also. T-Mobile offers 1 yr contract compared to Cingular and hence, you can change your phone every year.

Take a look at the deal at A1Wireless.com

1. Purchase the Motorola RAZR V3 (Camera Phone) with T-Mobile calling plan from A1wireless.com.
2. Maintain your new T-Mobile account in good standing for 180 days.
3. Complete the rebate form included in the box with your phone. Mail it to the address shown on the form along with the following:

* Copy of your sales receipt.
* Copy of the UPC symbol from the phone package.
* Copy of your T-Mobile bill for this account dated at least 150 days after activation showing your name, phone number, and previous balance paid in full.

180 days before you can even request the rebate. Your contract will likely be up before you're done fighting to get the cash. Thanks, but I'll pass...

Holy cow, the 2nd rebate's requirements are even worse! I assumed one of the two would be a standard manufacturer's or provider's rebate, but they both are A1Wireless, with draconian conditions. Here's the terms posted for rebate #2:

$100 Customer Appreciation Rebate

For a limited time, receive a $100 Customer Appreciation Rebate when ordering service on-line from this website, purchasing the selected phone and activating a new line of service from the currently selected wireless provider. Offer not valid for pre-paid service. Credit approval and one or two year contract required. Early termination fee may apply. To qualify and redeem the rebate, and to avoid an equipment discount charge back of $250, complete and sign the rebate form, provide copies of your sales receipt, guide to wireless service, a copy of the UPC from the product packaging, and a copy of a wireless bill for this account dated between 150 days and 210 days after activation showing the previous balance paid in full. Claim must be postmarked no earlier than 180 days after activation and no later than 210 days after activation. Void where prohibited. Your rebate check will be mailed within 10-12 weeks from receipt of your rebate submission as described above.

Unless otherwise specified, mail-in rebate form will be included with your phone shipment. This rebate must be returned and postmarked no earlier than 180 days after activation and no later than 210 days of activation. Please allow 10-12 weeks for processing. Call the toll free number posted on this site if you have any questions, or are missing your rebate form. All equipment serial numbers will be verified as being active on our system prior to rebate being fulfilled.

Good luck to those who choose to partake. I'm subscribing to this thread to see if anything interesting pops up in, oh, 180-210 days, or 2-3 months thereafter.

I'll disagree. Never had a problem with T-Mo, and I hardly ever have a problem with service. I was aware going in, however, about their limited coverage in my area.

Ive had no problems with A1 wireless. I got all three of my rebates back in a timely manner. And tmobile coverage is good in metropolitan areas, and a hell of a lot better than sprint.

Morons, it depends on the area obviously. I got this deal with Amazon yesterday but they only give you 200 in credit, no biggie as I shop at Amazon anyway. I was with Verizon for 3 years and they're by far the more popular provider where I live (metro Philly area) but I get shitty service at home, school and work fluctuates greatly. According to T-Mo owners I know around this area, they all love the coverage and get great service in and around the city. I also like the fact I can buy a 29.99 deal with T-Mo but providers like Nextel, Verizon, and Cingular only offer 39.99 at the least. For just a 1yr contract I'll take a shot, why not? It's a sleek, powerful phone with what should be a good provider.

So it doesn't work at your house, so it must not work anywhere? Is that the point you're trying to make?

I have no problems with T-Mobile service at all. A while back before I got T-Mobile, I walked into a Sprint store, and a customer was complaining about dropped calls. I asked a rep if it is a common problem. He said: "Well, it is not a land line, you will always have dropped calls". Yes, set low expectations, so customers will have an easier time to deal with problems. :Q

Meanwhile, I have zero dropped calls with T-Mobile.

Whith all this said, I agree with codeyf. You must seek LOCAL advice on which carriers work better.

My experience with t-mobile...
A. I have to go outside to make or receive a call.
B. Phone doesn't work in my car.
C. I have never had to push the hang up button, every single call I have ever made or received has been dropped at some point between from the time I pick up and about 2 minutes in.
D. Sometimes it won't even connect to a call, you pick it up and hear machiney noises. Or you say, "Hello," and the person on the other end can't hear you and hangs up on you.
E. They won't let me change my plan. At all. Not up, not down, can't add features, can't drop them.
F. After I signed up for a 1 year contract through amazon, I got a letter saying that if I cancelled after 1 year, I would receive a bill for the full price of my phone from t-mobil (though no early cancellation fee).
G. Customer service is extremely rude (at least the 20 or so times I've called them for various reasons) and insist that every problem that I've ever had with them is related to my SIM card somehow.
H. You can't get or send pictures to any phone that's not on the T-mobil network. My friends that are on Verizon can't send or receive pictures from me. Text works though.

I could go on and on, but that about sums it up. I'm in the Auburn Hills, MI area in case anyone cares. I don't care if they give me a free Ferrari with a 3 day contract, I will certainly never never never never never sign up for anything with them again. Exclimation point. Period!

You guys are funny! There will always be "verizon sucks!", "Nextel Sucks", "Sprint Sucks!", Cingular Sucks" and of course "T-Mobile Sucks" people out there.

There's so many factors involved... Phone, Location, Number of Cell towers, etc... My point is... It depends Where you are!!! T-mobile has by far the best rates and customer service. Go ahead and search. You should judge the carrier for their support and prices and not necessarily location because it's relative.
