I haven't been following any of it, but apparently this long defunct company wants to take Motorola down and has found a complicit Judge to go along with it.

It isn't over til it's over. I imagine a deal will be made, cause the purpose of patent trolling is to extract money. Nobody wins if the target just quits.

Us court of appeals sided with Lenovo in Oct 2024. Which dates back to Oct 2023, according to a link in the article. Which seems it stems from 2022.

My question is WHY is it only the G-Phones and the RAZR phones?

Here is first quote.

“final licensing offer” to Lenovo and, that same day, filed
the instant suit against Lenovo.

Lenovo's response 2 day later.

Two days later, on October 13, 2023, Lenovo sued
Ericsson in the United Kingdom, asking the court there to
determine FRAND terms for a global cross-license between
the parties. Lenovo would later, on December 15, 2023, ask
that court for an injunction prohibiting Ericsson from
infringing one of Lenovo’s U.K. 5G SEPs.

It is also noticeable that in November 2023 and December 2023 that Ericsson filed and won disputes in Columbia and Brazil. Leading to the North Carolina judge trying to uphold those decisions and getting overturned by appeals. Which is the way I read the PDF of the court filings.
