Yes, it's indeed very, very good. Nothing else comes close to it in terms of visceral combat. I've been messing with this on and off for 3 years now. The full version is said to be due out this September.

How deep is that game, mount & blade? How's the combat? I don't wanna download and install for nothing. How many players are there? Is it SP or is ot online?

Ok, watched the movie, combat looks like hack & slash, no real skills involved? Lame

I wouldn't call it deep. At least in terms of story etc. The combat is fantastic. It's the best mounted combat system around. If you ever wanted to be a medieval knight or a horse archer, this is your cup of tea.

Download and install for nothing? It's not that big to download, esp. for a broadband connection. Well, give it a try. It's SP only with possible MP support for the sequel.

The combat is excelent. You control your own guy, you can wander the planes, visit towns and cities, get more people to join you. Then you can attack bandits that are roaming around. Sometimes you see big big armies and if you are in good relations with one of the lords you can join in.

You fight mounted or on foot, with swords, axes, polearms, spears, bows, crossbows, throwing knives/axes and rocks... and more.

Its a single player game.

The more you fight the more xp you get and then you can level up. Increase your skills so you can control more people, take more prisoners (which you can sell into slavery)

In cities you can take part in tournaments, you can ask people and take quests to win money and favor.

You can also storm castles to try and capture them (never done that myself)

... there is probably plenty more to do



Also there are user created addons around, middle earth, ninjas, pirates, more skins, and lots more.

Just reading the review, it reminds me a lot of Conqueror 1086 AD which was an AWESOME game.

Heh, it's anything but hack & slash- It's the best melee combat ever in a game. Evverrr. I don't buy many games, but I bought M&B. Expect a lot of mods when 1.0 comes out too, they have a huge modding community that make the game 10x better.

yeah I was so impressed with this game's combat interface I couldn't stop recommending it to people.

I've been playing the beta on and off for a couple of years. Bought it years ago. Defintely the best mounted combat game around.

You can either keep holding onto them - sooner or later the kingdom they are sworn to will offer money for them. That's the best option. Sometimes when you talk to a lord, they will offer money for them as well...but usually only half of what you would get from the first option.

cool, just so happened I did just get contacted by the kingdom and was offered 9000 for my guy
