Last year, a couple buddies & i went to Jasper to camp & do some hiking/biking for a week.
We had so much fun we did it again this year, only this year, Jasper weather was crap, so we hit Banff instead, & actually Drumheller for a day.
I have tons of pics from the trip, but since i'm lazy, i'm going to just post a couple.
Camp.
We ended up getting better wood...since that wasn't burning so well.

The beautiful views.

Hiking up Sulpher Mountain.
There were the easy switchbacks trails. Or the gondola ride for the lazy ******.
Or there was the straight up the mountain route...
We started out innocently enough, just taking shortcuts up the switchbacks, but then we found ourselves on a different route altogether.
Pretty soon, there was no trail...so we blazed our own trail literally straight up the mountain.
Made what coulda been an easy hike into a ridiculously good challenge, especially with the knee-deep snow.

The gondola way up.
Gives a good perspective on how steep things were going straight up.

Long abandoned coal-mining area.
Those trees are actually growing out of excess poor-grade coal that's been there for almost 100 years.

We stopped in at Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller on the way back home.

I want to say thanx to Anandtech forums for being a lot of fun over the past couple years.
