Mouse problem, need advice. update

Hey there, I just found out that I have a mouse or mice in my old house (+80 years). What is the bes method for removing mice.

Any sites out there.

Paul Update: I put some glue traps out last nigh. When I got up this morning "oh $h1T". Somehow my pestroblem had manage to carry my trap away. I cant find it. I live by myself, so I know no one is playing a trick. Where, and how long can it carry a glue trap. Is it even a mouse. I need some serious suggestions. Should I call an exterminator?

Mice need food and water to live. Check the gutters for both. Make sure they are cleaned of acorns and standing water. Make sure there are no leaks under soil pipes etc. Try and find where they are gaining entrance and tighten them up. Tough job! Garage door seals and gas line through wall for example.

Simple mouse traps can do the job after that. Locate them where mice get in, not in your cupboards etc. Just keep baiting, catching and emptying the traps till they're gone. A very small dab of fresh peanut butter is all you'll need.

pretty creative method in this months Maxim.

you like run a string thru an empty beer can and tie it across a bucket of water, and smear peanut butter on the can. then you put a ramp up the side of the bucket, they will try to get the peanut butter but the can will turn, throwing them to their death in the water

I had one on my dorm room and found out where the sucker was coming in and out. I put one of those sticky box type traps in his way, checked it an hour later, and there the little fella was. His new home was the dumpster outside of the dorm. How he got out of the sticky box was his problem.

I've had a mouse problem in my house too. but the glue trap actually caught one of them! the other one got smart and disappeared...i think.

Just found out I have a mouse (mice) problem myself last night. I am going to buy some traps tonight and put them in the cupboard because that is where the F'r keeps showing up. He/Shey/They cannot be out in the open because my cats would kill the bastard in seconds. While I may not know where he came in from, I do plan on killing his ass.

Some buddies at work told me to stay away from the sticky pads as it is truly gross. Better to just snap it's neck with the trap.
