Mouse Problem Pleas Help!

I just Flashed my bios of my Asus K8V SE Deluxe mobo with the AsusUpdate Program. When i Rebooted and loaded up my desktop My mouse didnt work. There is power while the pc is starting up but once it begins to load xp and the desktop comes up then the mouse is dead. My mouse is plugged into one of my USB ports. I unpluged it and pluged it back in and then it worked. So I now have to do this everytime I Reboot or shutdown. Why is it doing this and how can i fix this.

Check your CMOS to see if your USB ports are still enabled. The CMOS may have gone back to a default off setting when you flashed it.

While you're at it, check any other settings you used that were not defauts.

Try the plug and play OS option in the CMOS setup.

u know i had the same problem with some Dell's that when i upgraded the Bios that Happened as well. if u cannot figure it out in the bios i might suggest downgrading your bios back the version it was initially at and see if that fixes the problem. or if you jumped from one version to another and not a step up i would suggest to go for a revision of it that was earlier ... see if that helps as well.

ok i went into the bios and everything was enabled and it said 1 "usb Device : mouse 1" or something like that. So thats fine. Im thinking about flashing my bios back to the oringal and doing a set by set upgrade. Becuase i went from version 1005 to 1007. So maybe thats why its not working. I tried doing it through Asus Update but it says i need to do it in Dos Utility. How do i do this?? Do i make a Ms-Dos Startup floppy then paste the bios in the floopy??

Try unplugging the mouse booting the system then plugging the mouse into a different USB port after windows has loaded completely. You also may want to try and reinstall the USB drivers through the device manager.
