I have an Intellimouse Explorer USB that I bought way back in the days of the $50 off $50 buy.com coupon
It was working fine until one day it started messing up....
It would work fine until you let it idle for about 5 seconds with no activity, then I usually get no functionality at all with it
I have to move it around over and over for about 10 seconds before it picks up again and then it works fine, until you leave it idle a little while...
Sometimes if I leave my computer for a while it will not come back up and I'll have to unplug it from the usb hub I have it on and then plug it back in..
It did it in windows 98se, and I hoped it would stop when I upgraded to XP, but it didn't.
Could it be some sort of incompatibly between the mouse and my usb ports? Maybe the USB hub? It gave the errors before I bought the hub though, I thought maybe the powered hub would help it out.....
All I have plugged into my usb ports is my bellsouth fastaccess dsl and my webcam and my mouse (dsl on it's own usb port, webcam and mouse on hub)
It didn't give this problem before when I had a telocity usb modem but I had the mouse plugged into the extra usb port on the telocity modem... It worked fine with my bellsouth modem for about a month then it began giving errors
Is it time to get another mouse?
Should I use the usb -> ps2 converter that came with it? I still have it but I game a lot (mainly castle wolfenstein) and I hear the ps2 doesn't refresh as quick so your shots aren't as accurate
Should I get a different mouse?
What should I do?
Any solutions would be greatly appreciative..
