I like my Logitech G5. Similar to another user, I became used to heavy mice because I used a wireless mouse for awhile. I use the weights in my G5 because of that. I wish I had the two side-button G5 mouse though (it wasn't available when I bought mine). But to give you an idea... I think I've had this mouse for probably 2 years or more now and it's been working fine for awhile.

i like the razer mice. been using a death adder for a couple years and love it. Before that i was rocking a copperhead which has been great after all these years and got switched to my lappy since the death adder

I have to say that I like my razer lachesis much much more than my G5 or MX518.
I didn't like the G5 all that much, but I still keep my MX518 as a laptop mouse.

I had to learn to grip the mouse differently when I got the lachesis, but I find it much, much more comfortable to me.

Anyone got any suggestions for a Logitech MX310 lover?

I tend to prefer low profile ambidextrous mice as I use a fingertip grip. I bought the MX518 a few days ago but prefer my trusty MX310. Eventually, the 310 is going to bite the dust (it's 5 years old now).

I like the Razer Samosa, but it's only got 3 buttons. The Diamondback 3G is also suggested for fingertip grippers, but I'm wondering if it's too large.

I went with a Razer deathadder and found it to be better than any Logitech mice Ive used. I used to get owned playing sniper (vs. sniper) in TF2 but now Im usually the top or second best on the server I play daily on. Huge difference that surprised me. Obviously it wont help you if you suck to begin with Logitech though feels a little more comfortable, wireless and I like the hyper scrolling on their newer mice for desktop use.

Does anyone know why the 3.5G version of the Deathadder is cheaper than the older 3G model?

I just picked up a Logitech G500. It's only $40 at Amazon right now. Logitech always makes great mice.

I just got the G500 too, it was $40 at Best Buy (and Amazon, but it won't ship for 2-3 weeks). I'm still setting it up, but so far it's really comfortable and I really like the scroll wheel. The side buttons feel a little off, but I'll probably get used to it quick.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, settled on the G500 for 40 bucks @ amazon.

I can wait for it to ship to avoid Bad Buy.

I've tried a few of these expensive mice (mouses?) and I still prefer my $10 logitech optical one. It's so light and easy to move with my finger tips.

Oh man, the DPI switching on the G500 is awesome for TF2. For Scout I made it hyper-sensitive and it's so much easier to follow people when you're running around in their face trying to blast them with the shotgun, with my old mouse I had to keep it low enough to still play the other classes and I couldn't keep them in sight as they tried to get away. Now I can spin fast enough to keep them in my sights, and then drop the DPI down a little ways for other characters. For Sniper I use a high setting while I'm running around or using secondary weapons and drop it down a bunch for smoother, more controlled sniping. No trouble with the side buttons so far (though I did have to tie them to keystrokes to get the game to utilize them), I'm using them for reloading and previous weapon (I hate how TF2 makes you click after scrolling to a weapon, and this fixes that nicely). I'll probably use them for knife and grenades in CoD. After a few hours, I'm very happy with my purchase.

MX518. I've tried a bunch of Razor's, a ton of wireless, and a few of logitechs G series.

The middle mouse button is ether too hard to push down (if clicking it constantly for 2-3 hours), it doesn't have a low DPI ability, or just feels way too awkward.

G9, Claw-Style. +1

G9, Claw- Style, +2.

Just keep an eye out for G9 deals, and snatch one up with it's $30 after rebate or something. I have 2 un-opened G9's just incase my current one breaks. lol.

I buy one whenever I see it on sale for $30 or less... they're that damn good.

Apparently I use the fingertip style. I don't know about it taking more practice, it seems pretty easy, but I like how I can keep the bottom of my palm on the table and move the mouse. I tried the others and it's can't be done with them.

doesn't logitech G9's have some kickass warranty? i believe its 3 yr warranty. if they break, logitech is very good about honoring their warranties. i don't think you need to stockpile more than 2. but G9s have already been replaced by G9x so they should be easier to find around that price now.

I like the Logitech G3 (wired laser mouse) so much I have one for both of my systems. Same with the RatPadz and the Microsoft’s Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.
I've used that set up on my first system for 2 years and counting...

Anyone got any suggestions for a Logitech MX310 lover?

MX310 lover? I'd say G3, but it's discontinued. I posted at Hardforum (http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1482128) and people are saying M300/G3 lovers need to move to Razer.

I've never had a Razer mouse, but they have a long reputation as being great. I remember they had a 3000dpi ball mouse in the early 00's / late 90's so I would have no problems moving to them.

I'd look at the dimensions for the G3 and then compare to all the latest Razer mice. I see one called the Imperator that looks pretty good.

From what I can tell, Razer mice are light, not bulky and high quality. Nothing worse than a mouse with a lot of weight to it.
