Mouth Tastes Like Cigarettes

I quit smoking a month ago but still from time to time I get a gross cigarette taste in my mouth. It's not the taste you get when you've just smoked but rather like you wake up the morning after a night of chain smoking/drinking etc. Is this normal? Is it just because my lungs are full of tar etc?

When I was first quitting I would definitely get cravings so bad I could I could taste/feel the cigarette but that was different.

Don't think so, I gave all my left over packs to friends.

I do smoke "recreational herbs", but haven't in the last couple days and don't normally notice anything like this..

If you don't like that then you are going to hate how kissing a girl that just had a cigarette is going to taste now that you quit. Don't let that discourage you though. It isn't worth picking up that habit again.

if you can quit and stay away from it during finals week, then you are definitely set for success. having that kind of stress can make it real easy to give in to your cravings.

I think the mouth tasty thing is something that occurs in something like 5% of cig smokers going through withdrawl. Please take that bullshit statistic with a grain of salt, because I'm pretty sure my cousin (who has yet to successfully quit for > 3 months) told me about this happening to him. Its a psychological thing, but yeah, good luck getting thru finals week...

I quit in 2004 after smoking for over 30 years...I went through this for several months. Everything smelled like tobacco smoke too. (even though all my clothes had been washed a couple of times, and I NEVER smoked in the hous or car)
Breath spray, tooth brushing, and gum can help with the shitty taste...and it should go away in time.

..load up on a B complx vitamins. don't give into the tobacco jones. just like it took time to get addicted to the nic. it takes time to rewire your brain to be unaddicted.

You might try nicotine lozenges to help with your nic fits if you feel up to quitting again, much better than the gum IMO.

Your lungs are probably still purging tar.

Do some aerobic exercise and drinks lots of water to help purge toxins. Also, floss.
