Well personally I would say that this is not a "great deal"
As someone else has already said your talking about a low end Stainless Steel Movado Watch with a mineral Crystal Glass.
If you really like the look and the name brand "Movado" then this might be a good deal for you...
However I do not hold Movado as being a brand that produces quality products in relation to the price.
One Flaw that the Museum watch has is that you have to be extra certain that if you go to replace the battery that you do so with one that is exactly the same height, if not the face can bend and the black paint will peel (Something that other Movado owners have complained about after having their watches serviced by the local jeweler).
Not to mention that the back of the watch is a press fitting and it does not have a screw down crown, which menas no swimming with that watch on
Personally I would recommend either an upper end Seiko as they are quite nice, or as someone else recommended, a Swiss Army, and there is even ESQ, which is a devision of Movado but their watches are a little sportier when compaired to Movado's more Dress appeal.
If you want a Higher end Swiss Watch, there are a few other "better" alternatives to Movado, Least IMHO....
There is:
Sector - Not as known as Movado, however can be had for the same money if not cheaper
Oris - On par if not a little more than movado, however much higher Quality
Reymond Weil - Generally Lesser prices than Movado and equal quality
Seiko - as mentioned before, great quality and affordable See invicta for where made
Invicta - Dirt cheap and really nice watches, japanese made not swiss though
Swiss Army - here you have a few choices, there are two companies really, wenger and vixtronix, personally I perfer vixtronix but they are both nice
Tag Heuer- A little more than Movado, but much more sturdy. All models have Screw Down Crown and are very solid...more of a name brand but highly durable watches
Omega - On average much more than Movado, but truly a wonderful watch for the money, finely crafted swiss timepiece that can usually be had at a good discount if you know where to call or live near a costco
There are other brands out there but anything else I can think of either most have never heard of or they are priced over $2k USD.
Remember though whenever buying a watch from a Non Authorised dealer, you are giving up the factory warranty (usually 1 year) and there is a good chance that the serial number on the watch has been removed, which would make it so most factory service centers will no longer service the watch (Omega and Tag are Notorious for this).
There are a few great grey market dealers out there but you have to do your homework before you buy. Feel free to PM me or email me at
mjancsics@hotmail.com if you have any questions or are serious about buying a high end timepiece.
Also that Rolex deal is quite shady....love it how there is no model type or even reference number...dont think I would spend that kind of money with such limited information.
