torpid, I'd like to go into more detail but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
I won't say there was no development as there were bits and pieces here and there through various other characters but it wasn't nearly enough and I wasn't nearly as moved as I wanted to be by the ending because of that.

I just got back from seeing it and I give it 10 thumbs up. The movie is definitely recommended from not only me but from critics (93%) and users (90%). A superb movie with amazing action and impressive camera shots. I'm not a film efficianado but I found myself noticing the amazing camera work in the movie. One scene, in particular, involved a very fast paced action sequence that lasted anywhere from 10-15mins that was all 1 continuous camera shot! Highly recommended!
Yeah would this be a good movie for a date?Originally posted by: judasmachine
The girl and I are going to see it tomorrow.

I'm a movie buff and I also took two things from the movie. The amazing way they drew me into the story, and the amazing camera work. As we left I was trying to explain two things to my gf...
#1. I was not crying during that one scene
#2. The level of difficulty in creating a continuous camera action shot that rotated around the actors, moved in space and lasted for minutes at a time.
I do wish I knew the cause of the infertility, but I didn't feel cheated because I wasn't told. This wasn't a mystery story, it was a drama about hope. The point is that the characters in the story didn't know either so there's no reason why we should. The not knowing is what shaped the world they lived in.
I can understand why some people feel cheated. They're used to no loose ends. They're also used to all their futuristic movies going into detail about how we got from how we are now to how they are in the movie. They usually go out of their way to squeeze that information in, usually awkwardly. The point of all of those movies is usually to warn us about continuing along some path, and telling us the consequences if some current action continues into the future.
This fact that this movie is in the future is more coincidental than anything. The story is not about why the present turns into the future world, so answering that question is not essential to the movie. The story is more about hopelessness, human nature, and how hope can change things... as seen through the eyes of an ordinary man.

wasn't all that impressed after watching it, id say its average at best. I mean I still have no clue wtf the point is at all. Just looks like another run of the mill action type movie with a pretty flimsy pretext.

I
The sad thing is I figured this out just by watching the trailer. Don't understand how the movie doesn't explain it but the trailer does.
Umm how then?

Damn it. I love that song. I have it in my running MP3 playlist at the end so it carries me the last 3/4 miles. I thought nobody knew about it though cause it's not super radio friendly.
