I've got to agree here. What's the take away from the movie?

In the future an African American President can ride around in the open without worrying about assassination by racists.

He has minorities and women on his cabinet

And they want the smartest intellectuals helping run the government.

Sounds like a surprisingly egalitarian society we could learn from.

Similarly, I always felt the opening sequence of Idiocracy was as much an indictment on the rat race of white collar dual income professionals, chasing some abstract concept of success and prioritizing societal expectations over biological realities. People see what they want to see.

I just remembered that the movie also clearly depicts a stoner culture as foundational to the future society. If you were to draw a Venn diagram, I doubt there is much overlap between stoners and Trump supporters.
