My son is having friends over for a birthday party. We are going to do a movie night. He wants a newer movie from within the past 5 years.

I think a comedy is the best idea. For a second movie we might do an action movie.

Anyway, please suggest some ideas. No R movies.

This a good suggestion. I know I'm gonna get shit for this but Pixels would be good too. My 8 and 13 yo sons really liked it. It mixes action and comedy plus it has video games which is big with that age group.

Depends on how well you know all of the guests. I tend to avoid Movies and Video games that go past a PG rating because some parents are way more strict than others and some kids are big *ussies!
