Movies that were SHOCKINGLY Bad

There are a lot of movies that we go into knowing its not going to be the next Godfather. We're looking for a little bit of entertainment and hoping it won't be a complete waste of our time. Often we come out of these and say, yeah that was pretty bad or it was actually better than expected. But lets talk about those movies that you finish and are just amazed at how bad it was. Shocked even.

The movie I just finished watching that made me create this thread was The Black Dahlia. I glanced at the usual critics on MRQE before watching it and it didn't seem to be doing too terribly bad. About mediocre which was good enough for tonight. So I figured I'd watch it and be entertained. Boy was I wrong (and I don't know what kind of crack some of the critics were smoking). From bad acting to ridiculous lines to a horribly written plot, I was just amazed at how bad a Hollywood production with A-list actors could be. No, even half nude lesbians weren't enough to save it...

So what do you guys think? This isn't about the comedies that you didn't find funny or the dramas that you found dry. Its about the movies that make you go..."WTH were they thinking?!?"

About a Boy (2002)
well...i didnt expect it to be good...but this movie was so bad i wanted to stab my eyes when it was over...it was such a waste of my time...if i wanst so lazy i would actually try to get my $2 back AND compensation for my time...that movie pissed me off so much >(

I imagine some guy arguing with his wife and he says something like "That's just rediculous honey. It's like asking Superman to lift an island made entirely of Kryptonite! It's Impossible!" Then the wife plays this utter pile of garbage for him and he just cries.

Moulin Rouge is easily one of my top 100 of all time. I watch it at least every other month or so.

Got taken to these by friends because I hate arguing over which movie to see. You'd think I would've learned the first time to avoid the Vs. movies but nope, I sat through both of them in their entirety.

WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR Freddy vs. Jason AND Alien vs. Predator, STOP READING NOW (like anyone cares).

Um both Freddy vs. Jason and Alien vs. Predator had winners... the ones who were left standing at the end won, despite the cliffhanger-type ending that was intended to leave both movies open for sequels.

Oh, and BUTCH1 is absolutely correct, Battlefield Earth was by far the worst movie ever made. Any other opinion is wrong, sorry.

That's exactly why they didn't have winners. One wins and then you get Freddy winking and it means nobody won because he isn't destroyed.

The best way to watch The Black Dahlia is to loop the sex scenes for a few hours while drinking heavily. Most every movie released this year has blown - just like the new albums. Mainstream media has finally FTW.

finally someone agrees with me. alot of the other movies people have listed have small things that are mildly interesting. Ballistic is literally one of the few movies i stopped watching half way because i was so bored. i actually watched all over battlefield earth despite how ridiculous it was, the special effects were interesting
