I have that at the top of my Netflix queue, but if anything I'd be shocked if it ISN'T bad.

Oh, and BUTCH1 is absolutely correct, Battlefield Earth was by far the worst movie ever made. Any other opinion is wrong, sorry.
You obviously haven't watched Mystic River.
Wow - of all the dumb posts in this thread, that might well be the dumbest. Mystic River was a masterful adaptation of a wonderful book. I'd say it properly belongs on a list of the top ten or twenty movies made in this decade.

wrong, it was slow boring self important and frankly overrated over hyped. a long episode of law and order stretched out. it was indeed shockingly bad.

To each his own, but this just demonstrates to me that taste is subjective. The movie that you hated was one loved by essentially every critic and every person I know who saw it, myself included, as well as other people in the film industry (it won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, and was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay).

I hated the Godfather.
Bad movies off the top of my head:
the descent
alien vs predator
van helsing
hidalgo
ghost ship
little nicky
home alone 3
home alone 4
any new movie by disney
oh yeah.... star wars episode 1, 2, 3, and 5
Star Wars 5???!!!!!! The Empire Strikes Back???? That pretty much disqualifies any opinion from you.

Never heard of Terry Savalas. Telly Savalas is a pretty good actor though.Originally posted by: MmmSkyscraper
I watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service last night cos I'm going through the Bond films and I'd never seen it before. Knew it wouldn't be as good without Sean Connery but damn it sucked. Lazenby couldn't act, with no grace, charisma or presence. The plot and direction were awful and there was no real Bond music theme in it, just the Louis Armstrong song played over and over again. He was a great artist but it didn't work at all and got annoying. They even fvcked up the opening credits. They pretty much broke all the rules for their previous success and it was a confusing mess as a result. I'm amazed the director went on to do more of them. Even Terry Savalas wasn't that believable although he had very little to work with. He did look super fly in his yellow ski goggles though, that was pretty much the high point of the film.

There are a lot of movies that we go into knowing its not going to be the next Godfather. We're looking for a little bit of entertainment and hoping it won't be a complete waste of our time. Often we come out of these and say, yeah that was pretty bad or it was actually better than expected. But lets talk about those movies that you finish and are just amazed at how bad it was. Shocked even.
The movie I just finished watching that made me create this thread was The Black Dahlia. I glanced at the usual critics on MRQE before watching it and it didn't seem to be doing too terribly bad. About mediocre which was good enough for tonight. So I figured I'd watch it and be entertained. Boy was I wrong (and I don't know what kind of crack some of the critics were smoking). From bad acting to ridiculous lines to a horribly written plot, I was just amazed at how bad a Hollywood production with A-list actors could be. No, even half nude lesbians weren't enough to save it...
So what do you guys think? This isn't about the comedies that you didn't find funny or the dramas that you found dry. Its about the movies that make you go..."WTH were they thinking?!?"
