I'd go so far as to say V for Vendetta is the worst movie I've seen in 10 years. Genuinely shocking how bad those two were. I'm guessing Lady in the Water was shocking for people who went without reading reviews. I fortunately was prepared for the suckiness and so it wasn't too shocking.
As far as classics go, I'd probably pick The Big Sleep. Such a highly regarded movie in a genre and time I love, but it just did not work at all for me. Very surprised at how much I disliked it considering my affection for other noir from the time.
I actually liked V for Vendetta quite a bit, but agree that Lord of War was bad, and overrated (though I certainly didn't find it shockingly bad). I didn't mind The Big Sleep, and thought Howard Hawks and Faulkner (who wrote the screenplay) did a good job of sort of parsing Chandler's insanely confusing novel. Actually IIRC there is at least one death that even Chandler said he couldn't explain.
