Just rewatched Contagion with my wife, who just watched for the first time. At the end of the movie, she asked “Why the eff did we just watch this NOW?????”

I guess there were too many parallels—novel virus, transmitted from bats thru another animal into humans in China, spreads via airports, people sneezing and coughing and touching each other, WHO and CDC going panic mode, then social distancing and all the other issues of containment vs. treatment.

Oh well, her fault for not liking zombie movies.

The first episode of the Strain is an interesting take on a response to a novel outbreak (think a bunch of people suddenly get sick on a plane)... but then after that it turns into a crappy zombie TV series.

The book was very good IMO.

I forgot about The Stand. Trump is Randall Flagg.

I thought 12 Monkeys was about time travel.
