Ok, first you'd have to admit that you're a guy and that some movies move you to tears. Then list a movie that you've personally seen that choked you up. I just saw "The Shawshank Redemption" the other day, for the first time, and I thought it was beautiful. It got me choked up a few times, specially at the end. Was a happy sorta choked up though =)
Movies that have brought me to tears, or choked me up -
The Shawshank Redemption
Lolita - Jeremy Irons
Forrest Gump
Revenge - Kevin Costner
American Beauty
Saving Private Ryan (thanks for the reminder)
It seems that the movies that have brought me to tears also are some of my favorite movies. There's something special about a movie that can draw you in so much to touch your emotions. One other thing, as a guy, or maybe more so for anybody.... I get the most out of these movies when I watch them by myself. Maybe it's because I don't have any reason to hold back, and can get wrapped up in the movie without fear of teasing if I get choked up =)
And another thing. There's just something about background or theme music in movies too. All 5 of these had beautiful music that seemed to fit the feel of the movie very well, cept maybe "Revenge" as I only saw that once many many years ago, and don't remember too many details.
