Well, the obvious point would be that it totally ignored the final battle between the rebels and the government forces - The House of Flying Daggers and the general's forces, in other words. That was the whole big lead up for the story and then they dropped that in favor of the dumb love triangle. It was the whole thing with Leo being a double agent to set up that battle, and not only do we see exactly nothing of it, but we don't even learn the outcome!
It appears the woman, Mei, comes back to life at least twice I think after being stabbed the first time. And she comes back after we remarked how amusing it would be if she were to come back to life as a zombie.
The fact that the final battle lasted for months. While I agree that was artistic license, when it happens after my friend and I make a crack that "Wow, this is taking so long. Pretty soon it'll be winter." A min or so later when it starts snowing in the movie, well, I just can't respect that.
Really, IMO, it just degenerated into a sappy, incoherent, saccharine mess at the end. The whole driving plot of rebellion and deception was discarded in favor of lurve. :thumbsdown:
