Moving monitor upside down damaging?

My dad, while moving my computer/monitor to another city, placed the monitor upside-down and my computer on its side. I was just wondering, can this be damaging to either of the components? I wouldn't think so for the computer, but I'm not sure for the monitor (I'm not really familiar with how a monitor works internally).

Monitor no. Computer, maybe depends on what side it was put on. I had an AGP card come slightly unseated one time after traveling on its side. I think that it was probably a fluke but you never know.

EDIT: Not really a problem for the computer, unless you fire it up without checking that the card is properly seated in the slot.

I have always moved my monitor upside down... Maybe 60 times? Still works fine.

CRT monitors should be shipped screen face down directly on padding and kept from sliding around. The best place in a car to carry one is in the footwell of the back seat with the front seat slid badk to keep the monitor from shifting. This keeps the neck of the CRT (which sticks out from the back and has the focusing magnet assembly on it) from getting snapped off or having excessive stresses placed on it.
