Moving to San Diego for a bit

Hey guys. I'm going to be moving to SD for a few months. I've never been there and am going there for school. Does anyone have insight as a cool spot to be for people 25-35 that's convenient, has parking, close to beach, not super posh or ghetto and isn't egregiously priced? Thanks!

edit: I should prob preface this with I grew up and spent all my time around NYC and SF. So not egregious rent is anything that's better than SF/NYC area.

edit: I should probably clarify the reason I'm going to SD is I need somewhere nice to relax and chill out for a bit. NYC is a bit harsh and hardcore and I'd prefer somewhere where it's easy to meet smart mature people who value community, connection, honesty, and self expression. Thanks!

weather, food, people, beach right there, tons of outdoor activity, laid back vibe, no bugs, no allergies.

pretty much everything about it.

i have bad allergies and the temp changes usually make me get sick as well, so living in SD i wouldn't have to deal with any of that. i've been sick since like last monday because it was unusually warm here and 70 degrees on xmas, then turned to be like 40 degrees the following day.

won't be anywhere near as bad as SF or NYC but still pricey compared to many other areas that are not SF or NYC

Pacific Beach is where the young people tend to like to congregate during the weekend

I've been talking with recruiters in sd the past month and it baffles me how multiple ones tell me finding my salary range there is rare, when its a little more than I currently make but the cost of living is like 1.5 or more there.

What exactly do you mean by "cool spot?" A bar? Old Towne? The museums?

Of your list of requirements I'd say you can only choose one. It's a great town with a lot to offer, but it ain't cheap.

Hah...years ago, on one of my first trips to SD, I met a girl who told me about Black's Beach so we went a few days later. She had failed to mention the fact that we'd be the only ones under 30 (or apparently 60) on the nude beach. Saw waaaay more old dangly bits than planned on that trip.

"Cool spot?" OP would probably fit right in at Hillcrest. University Avenue goes right through there too if you are looking for almost a direct route to SDSU.
