Mozilla 1.5 or Firebird 0.7?

I downloaded Mozilla 1.5 yesterday because I wanted to try out the browser and the email client. Poking around the Mozilla site afterwards, I discovered that there is a difference between the individual firebird and thunderbird apps and the whole Mozilla app., especially converning customizing options. Is there really that much difference, and should I try out Firebird in on top of Mozilla?

I switched to Firebird last year because it had better themes available. Both have about the same numbers of plug-in's/themes, I think.

i say firebird, i love it. and its not nearly as big and combersome as mozilla.

Well since they are both free... it's kind of a no brainer. Download them both and decide which one you like better. I personally like Firebitd and use it as my main browser. Also take a look at Avant Browser v8.02.

I personally like Moz and use it as my main browser. Try both.

Thanks for the comments. Also, is there any reason to download standalone Thunderbird?

Thunderbird is the mail client companion for firebird. If you want to replace outlook express, get it. It has some additional features...such as spam filtering and spell checking. It does seem to take up more ram that outlook express though, but functionally, doesn't seem all that different from outlook express.

I'll throw in a vote for firebird here as well. If you don't need the other features offered in mozilla, ie irc client, mail client, then get firebird.

Make sure you get tab browser extensions, it's great.

FIREBIRD! i use 99.99%. I use thunderbird exclusively.

I installed the latest Mozilla Build on my 2nd comp and setup the mail client to test it. It's great too. I think it's a toss up.
