Netscape invented SSL, which is the encryption technology used for secure transmissions with web sites. Open-source Mozilla has had SSL support for a long time now. The only remaining glitches are banks that stupidly "sniff" the client, and refuse to communicate with Mozilla. Technically, there is no reason for that. Such bugs are filed by the Mozilla project as tech. evanlegism, which essentially means marketing: somebody has to convince such sites to get their content team to fix their incorrect client sniffing.Originally posted by: bonk102
