Last week I purchased a Memorex MP3 cd player, model number MPD8505CP suffix A.
The main problem I'm having is that the CD player does not recognize the last 50 megs of songs even though my CD is 649 megs.
I copied 219 songs to a CD, 9 songs in the first folder, 10 songs in the second folder and 200 songs in the last folder and the Memorex only recognizes the first 181 songs of the last folder.
When I put the CD in the cd player in my computer, it recognizes all 200 songs in that last folder and plays all the last 19 songs perfectly. So I don't think the problem is with the CD. The total file space I have used on the CD is 649 megabytes.
Today I rearranged the folders so that my largest folder had only 160 songs. The same thing then occured. The player would not recognize the last 50 megs.
Since all the songs on the CD play fine using the CD in the computer, it seems as though the problem might be with the laser heads in the CD player. Maybe they are in some way misalligned and don't read that far down the CD.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem or have any idea what this problem could be?
