MP3 Player

I am in the market for an mp3 player and have pretty much decided on a hard drive model as even with a burned cd with 17 tracks or so I quickly want to hear other music. With a flash you almost have no music to choose from and the upgrade storage media costs are harsh. I already have compact flash cards but nothing uses that media in the recent mp3 market. When it comes to mp3 cds same problems as with regular cds for travel. Lugging the cds and their carrier. Scratches and finding which cd has which track..multiply the problem by 10 when dealing with mp3 quanities.

I am considering the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox..C? As far as I can tell there is no differences in the C and the older version. The Archos 6000 Jukebox(there is a newer version that simply seems to have added recording) and the Remote Solutions PJB-100. I think larger versions of the Nomad and the Archos are do out soon and you can already order a upgrade drive for older versions. Not sure if the newer versions will be hardware improved or not besides the larger drive capacities.
Any one have any experience knowledge with these?

I have a PJB 100, and my dad has a Nomad Jukebox. I like my PJB better, it's about the size of a gameboy pocket and easier to carry around, the nomad is like carrying around an extra heavy CD player.

Oh and battery life on the PJB is much better (1 lithium Ion battery rechargable lasting average 12-14 hours)

Yeah, but the PJB is double the price of the Nomad Jukebox ($500 vs $270). $500 is a LOT of cash to spend on a portable stereo.

True, but for $600 you can get the 20 GB version

$270 - 6 GB
600 - 20 GB

Over 3 times bigger, just barely twice as much. Of course this only applies if you got the cash and you got lots o' mp3s.

That was a consideration I made as the 20GB allows for a lot of expandability, a lot of people end up spending ~$200 for another hd for their Nomads, which may or may not void the warranty not up on that.
So for comparable products its 470 vs 590 or simply get the 6gb model of the Remote Solutions if I wanted to compare to products directly.

I heard that those nomad jukebox batteries don't last very long . Anyways I have a riovolt and I couldn't be happier, but it uses cds which you don't want.
