mp3 "splitter" program required

hi there,

i listen to alot of live mixes of DJ's and i want a program that allows me to set points in the mp3, and then rip each point into a seperate mp3, so i can then burn to CDA format to listen in my car.

the program doesn't have to be glossy and with a fancy GUI, i dont care if its DOS, i just want to be able to split these large mp3s into manageble smaller ones that i can selectively burn to CD.

shareware programs are fine if u know of any cracks that would be useful too

A simple solution (if you have the necessary HDD space that is) is to convert the MP3 files into WAV files and use a WAV editor to split the files, then you can re-encode the WAV files into MP3. If you use LAME for the decoding and the encoding then you should not have to worry about an appreciable quality loss from the decoding and the re-encoding. There are a lot of freeware/shareware programs that can break up a WAV file, just search download.com and you should find one without a problem. You can get LAME at www.r3mix.net in the encoders section.
