Looks fishy to me....

Notice how all the pictures showing it with the display on and
the thinner are actually of the ipod. The actual unit has a logo
on it right below the screen as shown in the two pictures that
show actual units... also notice the buttons look different from
the "advertisement" pictures that really show the nano and not
this unit... questionable quality.

If you really want one of these you can get one up to 4GB on ebay for less money and from more reputable sellers.

One of the sellers I just saw there had "private" feedback and it was pretty bad. Also, even though the player description stated MP4, it said "Audio" on the player and didn't indicate that it would play MPEG4 (divx), which is what I read MP4 to mean in this thread.

The pictures of the actual product on the site, taken outside of a studio/with no photoshop effects, make it look cheap as hell. It looks really poorly made.

There are about 4 types of Ipod Nano wannabes floating around on ebay. Most of them ship from Hong Kong. In China, you will actually see these things in retail stores on the shelves, so it really isn't that fishy. I haven't purchased one yet, but I have been looking at a lot of the ones on ebay, trying to get a 1 or 2 gig one for <$30. As an actual player, the one that I have been following the most is rated pretty well. The one scam that I have been hearing of is that the sellers hack the interface to display on your computer that it has 4 gigs, but when you reformat it it displays the true compacity which is 512mb or so. For this reason I have been looking only at the 1 and 2 gig ones which have had good reviews from the sellers.

So my final words are don't diss this because it isn't a ture ipod. It is a generic working mp3 player/ mp4 (they play MTV format videos I guess). I wouldn't buy one from that site because they probably store your information and stuff, but on ebay making a purchase through paypal might be safe. If anyone buys one on ebay please pm me who you bought from and how it went, because I am very interested in buying one of these.

hmm... the design of the player itself rips off the nano. in the image they didn't even bother changing what's supposed to be the 'menu' 'play' and all of that to what the player actually has on the face. the wall charger rips off the design of the motorola phone charger. nice. i'm willing to bet that it's poorly made and uses cheap materials... most of the knockoff electronics stuff from china/hk is.

I already have an iPOD so I didn't buy this. My brother ordered one though, he said it's popular in China so he took his chance.

Popular in China cus they can't afford the real deal so they have to settle for second (or third) best. The thing is, they flat out show you ipod nano in first couple of pics, then the last two, like someone pointed out, you see the real thing and it looks cheap as hell. I'm happy with my IPOD video so far. 20 hour battery life, but since I end up clicking it all the time and skipping songs ect, it cuts it down to maybe 15 hours. Ipod nano should be able to beat that thing in battery life I think.

I believe they do look practically the same. I've seen one version of the ipod nano wannabes. But I don't think they actually have the click wheel. Rather, what appears to be the famous click wheel is really only 4 buttons.

Thats false advertising. Not a hot deal. Like others have said, the pic they use in the advertisement is of the Nano whereas the actually thing itself has some logo under the screen. Not only that, I doubt the battery life is as they say. Cheap made in china lith batteries will never last long and are the reasons cell phones/other electronics explode.

I bought an earlier version of a 1 Gb unit off fleabay and I am satisfied with it. I think of it as a nice, tidy 1G mp3 player.

The user interface isn't the best. The video has to be "converted" to a particular format. I'm not a video kinda guy, so I haven't used it. One thing I'd make a small wager on: Even though the interface looks like an ipood, I'm guessing that its push button in disguise.

But for my recordings, its just fine: small, light, cheap...good for the gym.

Most of mp3 player are made in China anyway, and it is not a high tech product. Some portable CD players still cost around $100, but one can get one as cheap as $10 - functionable, not great. Dont' understand why "fishy"? Sometimes you get a new computer for $150-$200, anyone call it "fishy"? Cheaply made, that's all it is, toss it when it dies.
