MS IntelliMouse Exlporer problems

Well I think my mouse is dying...
randonly and occasionally it will simply stop responding, the red light/glow under it will go dim and/or black. I need to physically unplug it and plug it back in for it to kick back alive (sometimes it take 3+ tries at this)

Tried dif USB ports different combos, you name it.

I assume this is a sign she's about dead?

Anyone try the wireless version? Any good? I like the idea of no wires, and the shape of that wireless one is nice.

The original MS Intellimouse Explorer had problems with their cord. More specifically, the part of the cord that connected to the mouse. It would cause power loss when it came loose. Call MS and have them send you a replacement. Don't go with the wireless MS optical, it is bad. I posted several times in this forum about my horrible experiences with it.

My old roommate had that problem, and he called MS, and they sent him another mouse, and didn't ask for the defective one in return. So he ended up with two mice, but one didn't work 100% of the time. As for the number, I think you can find it on Microsoft's website, but I don't remember. When I called for my wireless optical support, I think it was a (425) area code number.
