Hi,
i have just found the solution to a problem that I have in the MS databases, but
MS is not releasing the FIX.
As in earlier versions of WIN98, when the shutdown was done too fast, the disk cache was not written to the harddisk and the data was lost, is now a problem, that the diskcache is not synchronized in WIN2k when shutting down the system.
I had to reinstall WIN2K for a customer because of this problem (registry was lost)
The problem description is here:
synchronize Disk Cache Problem
The workaround MS is talking about is not working, because the Disabling of the Write Cache is only valid temporarily. After the next boot the cache is enabled again !!!
