From the current hot dealz mailing from MSBCD.com:

--<>--> Norton SystemWorks 2000 v3.0 Prof. - $11.99
http://www.msbcd.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=24763

--<>--> SiN - $2.99
http://www.msbcd.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=24207

--<>--> Descent 3 - $6.99
http://www.msbcd.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=24530

--<>--> MDK 2 - $19.99
http://www.msbcd.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=24762

No messy rebates on any of these. Shipping is $4.95 for the entire order. These guys ship out pretty quick, and both of my orders so far came UPS 2-day, instead of ground like the $4.95 pays for.

Nice finds. Sin had so much promise when it was in the development stage, however it sucks. $3 is worth it though I guess.

Agreed on SiN... I downloaded the demo and really liked it, though it was a disappointment from the hype. Still, for $2.99, not bad. $2.99 + $4.95 shipping, though, and that really pushes the limits...

By the way, I just did a quick search and $19.99 is a pretty great deal for MDK 2 it seems. Anybody have this, and know if it's any good?

All the programs are listed for more on the home page. You have to follow the links I provided to get the special deals. This is the "super secret insider" mailing that people who have bought from them in the past get. They generally knock $5 to $10 off their sale prices on a few items.

I'm pretty sure they give away MDK2 with iMacs, so any iMac users out there (if they're willing to show themselves) should be good for a review...

By the way, I bought Descent 3 during one of those compuexpert 48 hour madness sales, for $9.95 I think. I was a huge fan of Descent 2, but I thought 3 was pretty lame. The graphics are terrible, and it's just the same game all over again. Not even worth $7, I don't think.

Wow !!! Thanks MontyBurns. I just ordered the Norton sysworks and just for the heck of it, I threw Sin into the basket. Is it good by any chance ?

MontyBurns,
You beat me to the post. I just got home and read this email. I picked up DiabloII from them. I have played a Myth ripped version of MDK2 and enjoyed the first few levels enough to buy this retail version.
Has anyone played Handkerchief?
Happy gaming!!!

Vinayag: Sin is a great game to throw in if you're ordering something else from them. It runs on the Quake II engine, and there was a lot of hype surrounding its release that it didn't live up to. It's still a really fun game, though, and for $3, you get more than you pay for.

Also: I swear by Norton SystemWorks. It has fixed dozens of quirky little windows problems I had. Plus, Norton Utilities has solved I don't know how many disk problems for me (especially floppies and zips gone bad). For anyone who doesn't have it, I highly recommend it.

(I also recommend picking "manual protection configuration" during the setup. If you don't, you'll have this norton dashboard installed, which I found to be a constant hassle.)

Unfortunately, no, and their price on diablo ii isn't among the better out there (awesome game though!).

wowwy, systemworks pro for 11.99 - what's the catch? they are actually losing money on these..unless those softwares are OEM, pirated , right? I'm really tempted to buy one but I'm also very skeptical. how did previous orders go?

Please note each CD-ROM will be packaged in a plain jewel case. The standard retail packaging was eliminated to make this promotional offer possible. Limit 1 per customer, while supplies last!

If you would like to purchase Norton SystemWorks 2000 v3.0 Pro with the contents of the box for $19.99

I guess you have to loose money if you want to have an E-store, they're loosing money, so they can have our biz. Why not take advatage of it, how can they make money when the sell games for $3, they have to pay something for it, thier people, etc..

Several of us got SystemWorks Pro for $4.95 as part of another deal they had recently (with rebate). This is very legit. The copy I got was just a single CD, but sealed and with a CD key (actually, looked like something that might be distributed with a new computer). Again, if you don't already have it, get it. Works wonders.

I've already got the plain SW 2000 version. But for $16.94 shipped, how can I go wrong! I'll either give my 2k version to my buddy or sell it to him on the cheap.
About $17 sounds good doesn't it?

Bun,
Don't use the CrashGuard. It's a waste of time.
The Disk Dr. (I think that's what it's called), and Ghost are the best on the disk (IMO). The CleanSweep and AntiVirus are ok.
Oh, did I say...
Don't use the CrashGuard
