This is popping up everytime I boot up my machine running 98se. The same error message everytime. I don't have the exact hex code as I'm at work and my computer at home has the problem so i can't get on the net.
I do know that "msgsrv32.exe is background program thats a go between for PnP devices, and other hardware with Windows.
One thing I noticed is when I boot into safe mode and check "device manager" for potential hardware conflicts that could be causing the error, I didn't see any actual conflicts BUT I noticed that I had 6 dvd roms and 4 cdrws instead of one each.
So i deleted all but one of each, rebooted, and got into windows fine. Well, eventually I had to reboot again, and the same error message. So I went into safe mode again and there were only 2 of each this time and I deleted all but one again. This time it didn't work and I'm stuck with the safe f#@$in error message over and over.
I've done quite a bit of investigating (technet, microsoft, etc) and can't find a thing. Perhaps one of you guys or gals can help me out.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
