MSI 6309 fsb question and others ...

I have a cel2 566@850 in a MSI 6309 bios AMI ver. 1.5 and have all kinds of crazy fsb settings over 150mhz but nothing more useable like 105, 110, 112...etc. Is this normal? I am also offered the sdram bus speed of 133mhz. Is this actually allowing me to run my pc133 at the proper speed while the main fsb is 100mhz?

Is there a single best tool for substantiating these settings?

It should have 110 and 115MHz fsb, if clk gen spread spectrum is enabled, but, you're right, there lacks the 105 and 112MHz. Also, the ram can be run + / - 33MHz. This board is very obviously geared toward the PIII Coppermine crowd running high fsb speeds.

Ahh...it's the spread spectrum that's screwing me up. I usually disable that immediately due to problems I've encountered in the past.

I've tried a bunch of different configs and I still get the ocassional lockup in 3dmark2k. It will loop for days and then lock. It also sometime freezes on a restart. Just have to keep fiddling. The via chipsets always require a bit more software voodoo than the old reliable BX. Just have to find the right combination of drivers and install them in the right order when the planets are aligned favorably
