Hey Kaytor,
I talked to Compuwiz1 and he bought a lot of them and they all mostly bad due to careless assembly. From the O/C population on this forum, people seem to favor more with the MSI than the Abit or Iwill. I am not saying that Abit products are bad b/c I am using the BX6_rev 2 now.

Well,

Apparently it DOES NOT MATTER if you call (like I did) to place your order with a REP.

Even if they verify with you that the item is IN STOCK, you still run the risk of having your order BACKORDERED.

I just checked the status of my order and mine's been BACKORDERED, even though the REP verified there was plenty of stock on hand for my order after I specifically told him I didn't want my order backordered.

ONVIA orders don't typically reflect who your salesperson was, so you might wanna jot the name down like I did just in case you have to call and B*TCH like I am doing as I type this.

My sales REP proceeded to tell me a new shipment was due to arrive today and that my order should be filled by Monday. That, of course, wasn't good enough for me. I'm now talking with his SUPERVISOR. Apparently I am being routed to the top of the waiting list and they will be overnighting me the Slocket.

You might wanna call and B*TCH a bit and see where it gets ya.

I just got mine today. It's a new one. My previous MASTER from CPUsForLess came in a box with a blue stripe and was v2.0. This one came in a box with a black stripe and was v2.3. Also, the box was not sealed and it appeared as if it had been opened, but not used.

mines in route, via UPS, you can track it from there site, I'll bet
the post caused alot of orders and they ran out. Mine shipped from CA.
I may not need it now because I don't know if I'm gonna build a Coppermine or a Thunderbird...

I ordered one even though they show as backordered. I figured what the hell I did not need it right away anyhow. Well it showed up the next day.Wow, that is the fastest I ever got something from backorder. This will work good in my MSI BXMaster I got from them for $85.00 (they sent me this one by mistake) Now for a deal on a Celery II......

I ordered one of these from onvia.com on July 1st, even though the web site said it was out of stock. It shipped on July 3rd.

thanks for the update. I ordered back on June 24th, and have been waiting on backorder. After I read your post, I called Onvia, and they indicated they have some available for shipment today. So they filled my "backorder" and my slotket ships today.

Apparently, my order was remaining on backorder because there is no stock on the east coast - but they shipped my order from West Coast, although it will take 5 days .....

So, if you are on backorder with Onvia, they can lift backorder if shipping from CA is acceptable to you....

Central Scutinizer, kudos to you my friend. I had ordered on June 28 and it was still showing backorder (I'm in the Southeast US). I just called and they're shipping me one from California just as you said. I have a Celeron II 566 just sitting in its box, I'm hoping the MSI will help it do the 850MHz dance.

I am in the exact boat with Big Al. I ordered on June 8 and still no peep. I just called Customer Support to request shipment from Cali. The guy didn't give me a straight yes or no, but tried to explain that they try to ship backorders if they have any of the item(s) in stack *anywhere.* It's all fine and good right now as they haven't charged me the devastating $11 nor do I already have the CPU awaiting the slotket's arrival. Stoopid me forgot to ask if these were actually in stock in CA.

I called and it was a waste of my time. They confirmed that they have these in stock in California but they were were still filling orders and the locations on the east cost were completely out so they were filling those orders. I live in California and still they said I should get it this month. BTW mine has been on order since 8 june.

Well I am getting the run-around from Onvia. I was told last week that a shipment was coming in on the 7/3 and 7/5, but when I called just now, the CSR said that no shipments were received on the above dates and that the next shipment is expected on 7/31. WTF is with that?

I ordered one on wednesday and I got a tracking number today, so it looks like they're back in stock. IF CS is still giving you the run around, you may want to cancel your order and just try again. Mine is on it's way, so if any of you have it "backordered", you should call them to figure out what's up.

odered mine on 7-5-00..saw that they were back in stock and took a chance..checked the order and it shipped today and I might even rec today or tomorrow..I also live in CA..so maybe that why it shipped so fast.

You got a tracking number? I was told by onvia that my order shipped on Wednesday, and my CC was billed, but they said no tracking information would be availbel. I though that meant it would be shipped via Priority Mail or the like.

Has anyone else recieved their slocket form onvia without getting tracking information?

Man...this pisses me off! I've had one of these on backorder from Onvia - at a slightly higher price, I might add - since early June. Despite the fact that people here are receiving them, and that Onvia's web site lists them as being "in stock", Onvia customer service tells me that they don't know when they'll be in stock or when mine will ship. WTF!?!

Thanks for the tip, Movado, I'll try ordering another one and see if it comes any sooner...

wlj, I was really mad about this too since mine has been on order for 1 month and people here are buying these now and getting them shipped now. A phone call didn't help but I sent them an E-MAIL about this and they apoligized and said mine would ship out FedEx Priority Monday. Give this a try before reordering. Here is what they sent me.
