MSI 865PE NEO2 already available???

Several websites already have this board as "available." I could of sworn Springdale boards were suppose to launch sometime in May. GameVE.com has the board for about $130 shipped. I must say that this is a very attractive price compared to the 875 boards out there. Now all I need is for the 2.8C P4 to be released.

Well, I just ordered one from excaliberpc, I have had some MSI boards in the past and they were pretty decent. I figure that it is cheap enough that if I don't like it I can sell it and try something else later.

I mean I'm in AU so $115 translates to about $230 or a bit less but probably a bit more with shipping etc.

If it's true, and that remains to be seen despite what's plastered on the "News" page, someone's head's going to roll at Ingram Micro. Surely this violates some sort of trade secret law.

And the more I think about it, the less likely this seems to be. Maybe a database screwup since everyone pretty much uses the same distributor...I don't know. But how many times has a board been sitting at the retailer ready to ship on the day of the launch, let alone a month before? Anything's possible I guess, but I wonder what's to gain by willfully pissing off Intel if it's for real.

Actually, I got a SiS655 board about 2 months ago...

Me getting a SiS655 board was a mistake IMHO, b/c it doesn't support the 800MHz FSB or Prescott. At least with the i865, I'll be able to get native Serial-ATA, 800MHz FSB, future S478 Prescott support (before it switches to Socket-T), and 8 USB ports (which I will definitely put to use).

I hope you guys get it and it turns out to be a good board. If it weren't MSI, I'd be ordering one myself. Just never had any good luck with them. They are usually bad overclockers. $115 is hard to pass up though. Rumor has it the MSI 875 is supposed to be good. Hopefully, the 865 will be as well.

yea i know what u mean. i've had great luck with msi, with the exception of overclocking. their multiplier change function is always buggy, and the boards always seem to 'over voltage' the cpu by at least .05 volts, usually .10 volts.

I will also be patient and wait. It wont be be much longer for more boards to be out. Asus, Abit, Epox, Albatron, Gigabyte will all be worth a look.
