The Intel PRO /1000CT. This board is IDENTICAL to the 875P-FIS2R listed on MSI's website, but it uses the 865PE chipset rather than the 875P... Purchased it from PCProgress.

hmmm, that does indeed mean that some Springdale boards are using CSA..

I'll probably be replacing my board with the BOXD865PERLK (Intel's 865PE with GigaLan)..

Well here's my experience with the board thus far.

I got my msi board yesterday. overall I am happy but I found out why my pc2700 wasnt stable at DDR333 on this mobo.

It seems the cas settings are broken in this bios (ver(1.0) .I did a few tests,tell me what you think.

notice how close they all are,leads me to beleive that cas setting dont work & it's stuck at cas2.

also this board shows my cpu almost 20C MORE than my P4B533 setup,I hope a bios comes out when they officialy release this board.

It undervolts a little bit but doesnt fluctuate at full load ulike my P4B533 did.

Budman, try this BIOS I was able to get from MSI Taiwan thu tech support, version 1.2 beta 1. This has fixed my memory problems, but not the temperature readings.

Well, considering that I couldn't overclock at all with version 1.0, overclocking my 3.0C to 3.24GHz seems like it is okay. However, I don't leave it at that setting, because I'm scard of the temp readings; I want to wait until I hear SOMETHING official about them!

Ok thanks, I will try with my 533fsb chip. i hope it fixes my mem timings,right now I am stuck at cas2 no matter what I try.

This is only for 2-3 weeks till I get a 800fsb chip localy.

Thanks for the bios but after flashing & testing it's the same thing for me,I guess they are optimised for 800fsb cpus.

After installing all drivers on a fresh Win2000Pro install, downloaded 1.2 bios update, and performed windows install option for bios.(crossed fingers and stared skyward for 3 min.)

I have tried mild OC to 2.9 with default memory and 66/33 AGP/PCI settings. No problems noted. Stepped down to stock settings and ran Sandra burn-in for 4 hours. So far all is well, and I am looking at more cooling for the video card. heat sink temp on 9700 at 124F while running 3D programs, 118 while web-surfing. Going to run 3DMark in steps up to 3G or fail, whichever comes first.

I like the board, but the posts here made me wonder if I made a mistake. My next project is to test out my 2.4B and see if I can get that past it's best of 2790 (155 FSB on ASUS P4T533).

My setup:

Neo2-LS bios 1.3
2.6c
OCZ DDR PC-3200 Performance Series Memory 2x256MB Model# OCZ400256R2 dual channel
Generic 350W power supply.

Ram is supposed to be rated at 2-3-3-6, however in dual channel it gets SPDed 2.5-4-4-8 (sometimes faster, depending on FSB).

Couldn't get stable w/out turning up VRAM up to 2.85 from default 2.5, running at 1:1 memory to FSB ratio. Eventually, got 1.3 bios with it's "performance modes" at which point the board would only post in "slow". Set the bios memory speed to 333, then manually upped the FSB to 241 (from 200x4=800 to 241x4=964) which brough up memory speed to 192.8mhz (aka ~385.6 vs. 400 that the RAM is rated for). In this mode I can run in any performance mode stably, though PAT still is disabled, as indicated by CPUZ. Memory scores in Sandra 4548/4628 -- livable.
