The only version we know for sure about is the GTS and it has an MSRP of ~$499 IIRC.

real or fake?

why would it be fake?

no kidding- dumb question

I thought it was one of those "show the picture but none in stock" bullcrap. You don't have to be an asshole about it.

If it were an unknown company, I'd agree with you. ewiz is pretty highly regarded, so I think that this is legit. good find.

When the Core 2 Duo was in stock at ZZF for the first time, people doubted it too. I would consider ZZF a pretty well known seller as well.

That's what ATI was planning, maybe Nvidia copied them.

I think "asshole" is a strong word considering all I said was "dumb question". And its not my fault you mis-spoke. "Fake" listings imply more of a malicious/scam intent than what you just said. Next time say what you mean. And considering its from ewiz- who is a respectable online store I have bought from several times, you can add the item to cart and checkout, it seems like your "show the picture but none in stock" re-wording of your presumption is less plausable, let alone made your "fake" call completely bogus.
If, in your first post, you had stated your "show the picture but none in stock" comment instead of "fake" I would have never posted.

I think I will pass on the MSI- only a "2+1yr" warranty. Wait for XFX or eVGA for Lifetime warranties. For a $600+ card its almost crazy not to.

EDIT- Add BFG to that list.

Lifetime warranty on a video card does not mean forever. This has been discussed before, "lifetime" implies only for the retail shelf life of a product.

Well, I have never had to get a card replaced with XFX or eVGA, but I do know BFG's are true lifetime. When same card no longer availabale you get free step up. I got a GF5900XT for a ti4200 a couple years back. My friend got a ti4600 for a ti4200.

Doesn't seem worth the price to me, best thing that can come of this is the 7 series prices hitting the floor. i might just take this opportunity to sli some GTX's, i wont be buying a G80 until next year at the very least, I managed to keep my 5600Fx throughout the entire G60 lifespan so I'll probably skip the G80's altogether.

I doubt reselling will be worth the trouble yet, i wouldn't buy it for that price, let alone a higher one. You wont be able to turn enough of a profit for it to make sense.

Hmm that is strange.. Why would they take $50 off a brand new item at all??

Also, i didn't notice at first glance but the card really has 768Mb of ram?, isn't that rather odd, why not go str8 to 1Gb, i don't think i've seen anything with 768Mb of any kind of memory before.

That is strange... does any one know why?

No. I'ts just rocket science.

Come on guys. It's advertising. By having a lower price when viewed from froogle or pricegrabber or pricewatch, you are going to be the first hit in the list and most likely get the sale. Lots of stores do this.

Because it doesnt have a standard memory bus, in the past mem busses increased by powers of two, 64 bit, 128 bit, 256 bit, but instead of 512, NV went for 384 (256+128) for the GTX and 320 bit (256+64) for the GTS. So since graphics card mem is 32 bit per device and 1Gb, it takes twelve to make 384 bit total which is only 768MB of mem. Wow, that a little more confusing than i meant, can someone else explain it better?

Maybe eventually, but prolly not for a while since it's DX10. It's a whole new class of hardware.

And in 12 months people will be desparately unloading that card because it contains yesterday's tech, while your rig will still be a useable machine for day-to-day work. Oh the irony!

Too rich for my blood, any idea when something like that will hit $400?

Even with eVGA step-up program, this is not even worth it. I'll just keep my 7900GTO.
