Henry, speaking of MSI. There is really not a good and current review of the MSI 694D Pro-AR out there anywhere. Is that one up your sleeve for sometime in the future? Mmmmm, dual 1GHz.

I guess my point is,....................it would be much better to get your boards for testing/reviews from retailers, NOT from manufacturers.
Also, are not most of the "beta boards" that you refer to usually very early/new releases of NEW technology, such as first edition chip sets, or new socket/slot cpu configurations, etc?
I think your review stated that the K7T-Pro-2 was a fourth(?) edition of this basically same board?
However, you are the expert, and I am learning all the time, so I'll get off of this soap box and move on to something else............

compuwiz1 - Oh yeah, we are heading to dual as well now too. We have gotten couple of dual boards, now it's the time to see what's the best way to test them. dual 1ghz? heee..... Anand, you read this, you should know what to do

clumsum - well, so far all the boards (and also other stuff) are from manufacturers directly. But sometimes we do have to get stuff from the shelves directly for testing. That totally depends on what Anand has in his mind.

If you notice, a lot of times we have the reviews of products way before its release. Those products are most likely engineering sample. A good example is the K7T Pro2 I have. It's just a sample! Yeah, the retail version is even better than the one I have (doh...)

clumsum No problem, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy my MSI-6309 boards. I was particularly impressed by my new one that I received a couple weeks ago. My original board has the battery mounted sort of on edge, sticking out from the board. Some reviewers and users had criticized the method of mounting. While I haven't had any problems with it and dismissed it as a "non-issue", my new board has it mounted flat in the more conventional way. It just seems like MSI really is listening and responding to their customers in a very positive way, unlike some larger better known companies. As soon as the director of the budget (my spouse) allows, I am going to order an Enlight 7237 case with the 300 watt power supply and a new K7T Pro2 and Duron/T-Bird just to see what everyone is so excited about. Me, I am still thrilled with my new celeron 600 @ 900

I just got an msi k7tpro-2a with a 700 duron, and after connecting the L7 bridges, I can choose any voltage but the voltage I actually get seems high.

When I set it for 1.75, what I'm getting is reported at 1.82. This spread happens at any voltage it seems.

Anyone else getting this?

compuwiz - the MSI 694D Pro-AR is really cool! We have reviewed the 694D, but I think this can be a really nice comparison!

Mine gives it more voltage too. I wouldn't worry about it though, a lot of mother boards give it a little extra voltage.
