I believe "real" Pro's are 5 ns, and I believe this card is 5 ns as well. Newegg's price is a bit cheaper including shipping costs (but not counting tax), but they are out of stock .

MSI tends to put whatever RAM they have on hand in their cards. For the most part, the 8831 seems to be 5ns lately. RAM yields must be high enough now to sustain a 'true' Pro market.

I have the 8831 MSI card from Newegg w/ 5 ns ram. I always like a card with good drivers and continual driver updates. I was VERY satisfied w/ my Elsa Geforce1 SDR and expected similar from MSI. What I got was a reference driver and a card that cannot run at default clock speeds without some occasional lockups. I dropped the core and memory speeds down a good bit and all is now fine. As always, YMMV but I am less satisfied with it than I thought I'd be. I'm hoping a change in my MoBo and cpu later this year will solve some of the lockup issues. Yes, I tweaked a few settings ( AGP 2x) and I seriously doubt I have anything wrong ... just a flaky mix of hardware.
