MSI GF3 TI200

Today in the Frys add they posted a GF3 TI200 for $99 after $30 mail in rebate. In the Hot Deals forum someone mentioned that it might be the MSI GF3 Ti200 they make for Compaq. They stated that if it is this card it comes with a huge heatsink but no fan. Does anyone have any experience with this card? What would stop you from mounting a fan on the heatsink? Like using epoxy to bond a Panaflo to it, would there be any advantage?

I posted that thread, I bought that card, and it IS the OEM GF3 they bundle with their compaqs. Nothing would stop you from bonding a Panaflo fan to the passive heatsink except that you'd be losing one or two pci slots. And I'm not sure if that would hold up well. Might be better if you just removed the passive heatsink and get a crystal orb.

Me? I placed a slot cooler right under the card. Creates a little vacum to sucks air through the heatsink. I think it works ok. I overclocked my gf3 to a conservative 200/460, and I had no crashes/abnormalities. I haven't tried any higher.

The computer is not here, so I can't experiment for you.

I've maxed out my sliders at 220/500 and it runs stable, 3dmark 2001 score was about 7800, its a good card for the money. I took the stock heatsink off and put a Thermaltake Blue Orb on ($8 at fry's) and some Thermaltake ram sinks on ($6 at fry's, leftover heatsinks after I put the heatspreaders on my SDRAM). The blue orb attaches in the same spots as the stock heatsink. though i havent seen my rebate yet

I got stuck at work and did not get a chance to go to Frys and get one of these suckahs. Anyone else have anything to say about this card?
