Can someone pls. write stock fan speed on 770 Lightning, % and rpm. in full load. Thanks.

I have like 65% max fan speed on Metro Last Light with SSAA4x with 78C max temp. Crysis 3 max temp is 76C.

Max boost is 1263mhz on core. Can someone confirm its ok or not? Thanks and cheers.

I ask because on Twin Frozr Gaming 770 with 45-50% fan i was had sometimes 79-81 C on Metro Last Light with boost 1110-1136mhz.

And now on Lightning 770 i have 77-78C on that game but with higher fan speed like-> 65% and boost 1267mhz on core. Its not too high for Lightning card compared to Gaming Edition 770?

The temps are well within the operating limits, but that does sound high at that given fan speed for a lightning card, even with your high boost clocks.

Why does this thread seem familiar..

Anyway I would start by asking what your ambient (room) temperature is because that could sway temps up quite a bit compared to review sites.

28 Ambient. I understand that now i have boost 1267 mhz better than 1136mhz on earlier card .

But i dont think that is a reason. Its only 131 mhz difference.'

Can somebody explain me ?
Why on 770 Gaming i was had 79-80C with 46-48% fan auto
On 770 Lightning now i have 77-78C with 65-70% fan auto

Its not normal?

The card likely has a higher default voltage and that with the clock speed bump requires higher fan speeds to keep it at the same temp.

Basically, if you are not having issues the card is fine.

no they all have the same voltage

Considering the temps and the boost clock, those are fine temperatures. GPU Boost 2.0 enables for higher temps before the fan kicks at higher speeds. Once it hits 80c then the fan spins at higher speeds and the clock drops. Totally normal operation. Remember that metro last light is tough on GPUs especially with Physx Enabled.

This just shows you that Boost 2.0 is working. Boost clocks are completely tied to temperature. The card is designed to boost. Boosting uses more power just as overclocking would. If you crank up your fans your card should boost higher and stay boosted longer. If you set your fans lower, it should boost lower frequencies if at all.

By design, your card is trying to get the max clocks at an idea temp. So while your fans speed up, the card is still aiming at the same temperature threshold. Its your temperature target. You have the ability to tweak these things. If it is set to 80c (which i believe is default) then the card will to run at around that temp. It will boost if it is below the target and throttle if its above it. You can change your temp target.

So know we have several things in play: Temp target, fan speeds or profiles, voltage- all of which effect your GPU clock speeds. Ultimately the temp target will be met and the other two can effect your overall boost performance one way or the other.
