MSI K7 Master 133MHZ FSB Problem

I have been experiencing stability issues with my system when setting the FSB to 133mhz. I am using an MSI K7 Master Motherboard with a 1200mhz Athlon Thunderbird CPU and 256mb of PC2100 DDR Memory. The system runs fine at 100mhz FSB, but crashes constantly when set to 133. I have tried all BIOS revisions and none have solved the issue. I have borrowed a different stick of pc2100 from a friend and have been met with the same results. Any help would be appreciated, especially from fellow K7 Master users. I am using Revision 1.1 of the motherboard which is certified for usage at 133mhz FSB.

You need to make sure your cpu is for the 133mhz fsb. It would need a multiplyer of 9x. If it isn't. Unlock your cpu and set the multiplyer to 9x.

I have verified that it is intended to be used at 133mhz FSB from my bill and CPU Box. Have other K7 Master users had issues similar to this? Could it be conflicting with certain hardware in my system?

If it's meant to run at 133 fsb, and it doesnt, its time to return it. IF you have a spare cpu lying around, you can throw that in and confirm thats its not a mobo/bios problem. with only 133 mhz, i doubt its your pci's causing you to crash.

I had that problem too

Just turn off your computer, unplug it and wait a minute. Then, plug it back and turn it on. It's gonna be rock solid until you power it off. If it works, that means you have the 133 mhz fsb problem

I know its a dumb solution, but it works. You can set the fsb in BIOS at 100 Mhz, boot up, and restart and set the fsb to 133 mhz in BIOS. Your computer will run rock stable until you power it off.

So, what you can do is unplug the computer (with a powerbar) every time you turn it off. Your problem will be solved. Of course, you can also RMA it

Wow, that's quite lame. Certaintly not something I would expect from an MSI Motherboard and AMD Chipset at that.
Your solution works, thank you, but I will be contacting MSI regarding this, as I find it unacceptable.

But MSI doesn't acknowledge the bug... Personnally, I was saved by the fact that the board also refused to accept my crucial RAM (which works fine in every other mobo I've tried, even in my friend's K7 MAster).

Well, this bug is really lame since except that, this mobo is great.
