I posted this message a week ago in the motherboard forum without any response. Maybe someone in here can help...
I have the MSI K7N2G-ILSR board and use the onboard ethernet port. I want to add an additional card, but I run into strange problems. I've tried this with two different cards: a 3COM 905B-TX and some Belkin 10/100 card.
The machine will boot up file, and even load windows, but as soon as I plug an ethernet cable into the second card, it locks up. If I boot without an ethernet cable in the jack, then the screen gets garbled and locks when the Loading Win2k screen comes up. This is the case with either card in any PCI slot. I have tried disabling the onboard ethernet and unplugging the cable from it, but that does not seem to make a difference.
Has anyone else run into these problems before with this motherboard?
