I am about to flash the new overclocer bios...

I have never flashed before.

I went to dos and formated a bootable floppy and then I extracted the new bios on to it... I also took the autoexec.bat file included with the 2.4 bios and opened it in notepad changing the bios version to the overclockers one...

changed it from A:\AWFL789 W6330VMS.240 /SN /PY /CC /R /LD

to A:\AWFL789 W6330VSP.10g /SN /PY /CC /R /LD

Is that wise? They had not include a autoexec file in the overclockers bios which is why I had to take one from the 2.4 bios...

I did mine the same way and it worked fine for me. There are some issues with flahing after using the 2.4 bios. There are several posts about it with a fix for the problems associated with it.

I did the same thing, and flashed to the new o/c'ers BIOS the other day. No problems.

Well I did it... and it seemed to work... primitive flash user interface moved along on its own... but I don't know... it seemed like the computer reboot itself prematurely before the program was finished running...

Now when my computer boots it says unknown flash type, but the computer loads fine...

FYI, I flashed with the latest overclocking bios...

Am I fine?

I got the unknown flash type as well when I booted after flashing the oc'ers bios. I went and reset the defaults in the bios, then when I restarted no "unknown flash type" anymore.

after flashing a bios, then rebooting, its usually recommended that you enter the bios and change it to load default settings then exit the bios and save those. i know with my asus cuv4x it recommends loading defaults after installing a new bios and when i didn't do that, i got an error about the bios even though it still loads up fine. i have yet to flash my msi pro2a but i'm sure its similar and you'll get an error message that does nothing but should go away once u reset the settings in the bios to default. if you changed a bunch of stuff in your bios you might want to write down what you changed so that after resetting it to defaults, you can turn on the options you had before.

That's what the LD switch does...

By the way, since we're talking about bios settings and the Pro2-A, I finally got over the instability problem in 3D games by using the A7 AGP driving value. Not a single crash in a week. The picture was a bit brighter (adjust with the monitor and it's fine) but I find it looks better. Anone else has tried this setting?

My problem is not that 3D games crash my system, but that the menu screens in UT for example are all distorted. Would changing the AGP driving value help this? What is the HEX number that you have to use to change to the A7 value?

Actually, I just had the wrong drivers installed for my vid card. heng1028, I don't know what to tell you, it just went away for me, maybe you should try flashing again.
