MSI K7T Pro2-A + 1.3ghz Thunderbird = Help!!!!!!

I have a MSI K7T Pro2-a and just bought an AMD Thunderbird 1.3ghz 200mhz front side bus processor. I am running version 2.7 bios which is supposed to support 1300mhz processors. It posts and starts to boot and seems fine until I try to install the OS. No matter what OS I try it crashes with strange errors throught the process. All I have running is a Matrox G200 video card and IBM 20 gig hard drive. Any suggestions?? Also the computer worked fine when I had a 900mhz thunderbird. I've also tried different power supplies. I'm begining to hate this computer.

I forgot to mention I am not trying to overclock this processor heat is not the issue. I have a Taisol heatsink with an upgraded fan, a Delta high flow fan. I cannot remember the exavt dimensions of the fan but it sure moves air.

be more specific, have you tried to install with the &quot;failsafe&quot; bios settings? a different stick of ram? how do you know heat is not an issue?

i thought only the new t-birds (aka the 266 bus's) were 1.3?
well my k7t-pro2a sucks, its ok, but man i wish i would have waited a bit and got a better one...but its running a duron 800 at 950...

the 266's are backward compatable, and my pro2a definately does not suck, stable as a rock for almost 6months.

My CPU temprature is 114. As for the strange errors let me elaborate. Whenever I try to install an OS it blue screens or says a lin in an .inf file is incorrect. I was able to install Windows NT 4.0 when I turned my CPU cache off. I dont know what to do. Please help.
