MSI K7T Pro2A not O/C very well

I can only up the FSB to 105 instead of 133 or more must be this mb but its pretty stable for me so I guess I will keep it. I do have a question for u guys out there do u use the bios to oc or the software to oc the fsb? I ran sandra test and I got better speed with software oc, just need to know what the diff is? Thx.

There's probably no difference. However you shouldn't overclock the FSB, the reason it doesn't work, I think, is 1) because the RAM can't take it, 2) Because the PCI and AGP can't take it. You should unlock your CPU and multiplier OC instead.

Like Maniac said, with the L1 bridges unlocked it's very simple to change the multipier in the bios and OC that way. nothing is out of spec that way. PCI,AGP,RAM etc:

Can't get to 133? I've read in many places that the highest people have gone as far as fsb was around 110. Is this true for other users as well?

Yes. I can't even go to 104 before I get instability....

My FSB is currently at 108, and I have a feel it can do 110. Same board. What BIOS are you running?

?!? You must not be a true OC'r. You get the greatest performance benefits by OCing both the FSB and multiplier together. You only need to invest in good components.

I've read a few reviews on the Pro2 and Pro2A that said the reviewers could initially get as high as 110 or 111 on the FSB but over time this limit would slowly reduce and finally stabilize at around 104-105. This is probably the Pro2A's FSB limit.
