MSI K8N Diamond Plus...Dual 16x Sli and SB on-board

I still like MSI boards, but this one is getting pricy at nearly $300. Curious if anyone has tried one yet?

Yes I got mine last week and am very impressed. I had the DFI SLI- DR which I also liked but this MSI board installed so easily and I didn't have to set jumpers for SLI. So far I have overclocked to 218 fsb to 2618.5 MHz. Going to see how far I can go before lowering Multiplier from 12 to something lower. Very stable at this point. Like the extra space between video cards. Only paid 229.99 from NewEgg on 1/06/06.

I hope they do...it is a feature rich board, and one of the first with quality onboard audio.

That's one of the primary reasons I'm looking at it so intently. It has all the qualities I need, and I'm still a big MSI fan.

Well,

I couldn't convince myself to take a chance after some real issues with the Platinum boards and running 1T command rates. MSI and I went through several revisions of bios mods and I still couldn't get the 1T rate to work, and they finally told me it was hidden and set to 2T default now as more and more users are going with multiple banks of memory.

I picked up the DFI Expert instead...now I just need to upgrade the audio.

I bought this board last week, based on some high marks at newegg.

Pros:
* Heat Pipe on the North Bridge
* Audigy sound built in (even as a gamer, it makes you think twice about buying a card)
* Powerful, but you already knew that
* Great utility programs
* SLI support
* Excellent manual, excellent diagrams
* Dual Core support

Cons:
Incomplete SATA drivers for XP-64. If you are just running one SATA drive, as I am, you can't load the 64-bit drivers at this point in time. Basically, you can only run XP-64 on an SATA system if you use raid.

Great board, just got it. Had to update the bios right away. Very stable many features. I set up Raid 4-75gig raptors 0+1 I then crashed it on purpose to see if it would rebuid, it passed.
Paired with 2 BFG 7900 GT OC cards & amd 4800x2

I too run this board and like it (so far). Which BIOS did you go to and where did you get it? I've seen the 1.19 and 3.beta mentioned in the MSI forums, yet the "LIVE update" feature and MSI's website don't have either of them.

I have read up on this board and after such a great experience with my old Neo 2 Platinum want to get another MSI and think this one would be perfect. The only problem is that I can't really seem to find this board anywhere, it is always sold out. Does anybody know if it has been discontinued or a good place to pick one up?
