MSI K8N Neo Platinum + Ventrilo?????

On my old PC(P4 2.8Ghz)I allways played this game called Enemy Territory and I allways played it with voice over IP(ventrilo). On my pentium everything worked flawlessly, I just put mic jack in the soundcard, put the line in jack in soundcard and done. I connected to a ventrilo server, set up all the options to match my soundcard and people could hear me and I could speak to them and see my voice recorder lit up to a green status(meaning I am the one speaking then).

Now on my MSI it just does nothing, I hear totally nothing and I don't see myself speaking so the microphone doesn't even pick up any sound(it doesn't go green and while using the monitor function it picks up no sound either)??? I first tried ventrilo straight through my onboard audio but that was no good either, I could hear myself speaking but as soon as my mate started speaking he got like 10 echoes of his own voice. I know its not his problem since all works fine when I am not on the ventrilo server.

So thats why I thought, lets put in a soundblaster 5.1, that allways worked perfect, but helas, nothing works. I tried disabling the onboard sound, disabled soundman in windows, all drivers for creative are installed correctly, I see my soundblaster popping up in the selection menus in ventrilo and I get totally no voice recognition from my microphone???

Anybody have a clue what I should do to fix this??

try checking the "Use DirectSound for Input Device checkbox... its worth a shot

Stupid suggestion, but are you plugging the speakers\mic in the right jacks and do you have your key bindings set correctly in Ventrilo?

if u dont see it turn green it is possible that you did not bind it

I allways do that by default!

Yep I did it a million times already, pink microphone in pink connector on soundcard, line in on green connector. Even says so in creative helper panel, so thats 100% correct. As far as bindings I have checked,

Enable outgoing communications
play key clicks
Use direct sound for input device
play binds sent by other users
play missing.wav if bind file not found

and those are the most important ones it would seem, it allways worked like this before???

EDIT :

BTW What device have you set for "LINE" and "MUX", these are the only options i haven't changed yet

seems like you have missed something...

use the "Use Push to talk HOTKEY"
and set the hotkey under it a bit down to something like mouse3 or whatever and try again.. "play key clicks" is not important.. thats just the click sound when u hit the talk button
