I got all 10 of mine yesterday. I don't use Windows BIOS updaters if I can avoid them. I've flashed three of them (from DOS). All three flashed fine, but the third board just died. It will no longer POST (after running fine with new BIOS for a bit). Haven't tested the other boards yet. Need to go to class now and won't be back until late at night so may not test any more until tomorrow.

BTW, I just looked for the matching model number (not name) for the BIOS, which is MS-7125.

he's probably also bought 10xFX55s to go with them as well. I saw the FX55 deal for 140 or with HD for 200 bucks deal. both excellent.

Update: Third board is okay. Just had to reseat stuff.

blkgrffn and Netopia are right... I'm helping collect parts and assemble 10 systems for a local internet center called Phoenix Gaming. They're on a low budget and need to do this on the cheap. Being that I hang out here at the Hot Deals forum way too much I offered my services for sourcing the parts. I ended up saving them about $140 per system plus got them better video cards.

Do you live in Kenosha? I pass this place everyday on the way to school. Weird.

anyone know if I can buy the firewire and usb breakouts for the extra headers? I'd really like to use the extra firewire port in particular.

Got my board in today (finally). It had some weird Fujitsu-Siemens splash screen when I booted up for the first time. As far as I can tell, these boards are rebranded OEM versions of the Neo4-FI (revision 2.0 board) and come with a pretty stripped down BIOS with no overclocking options or anything, which was a little annoying since I bought this primarily to overclock an Athlon64 X2 3800+ with.

I rolled the dice and attempted to flash my board with the Neo4-FI rev1.0 BIOS version 1.D and lo and behold, it worked! I've got the full complement of overclocking options in the BIOS menu now and the default MSI splash screen. I'm really glad I didn't fry my board and was able to get the overclocking options working.

Link to the Neo4-FI BIOS: http://tinyurl.com/yhwy49

This board is the Neo4-FI (which isn't normally sold in the US?) and not the Neo4-F or Neo4 Platinum, more like something in between. It does include onboard firewire. All in all I'm really happy to get this for under $50, thanks OP.

Same. I always wondered about this place. I had my suspicions of it being a LAN place, but I always forgot to check out the site. I am thinking of dropping by for a LAN.

I'm grateful to see someone post the same experience with the 2.0 version. I also recieved that version, and I can't tell if that is what other people got on this deal. I'm going to try the update that you offered, I'll see what happens.

I'm unable to boot off of anything, the current bios is horrible with no overclocking options as you mentioned.

Just as an update, this motherboard was essentially shipped with the wrong BIOS. The bios linked above has worked for me. Again I had the v2.0 board. Going to try the windows install now.

Well, I lived in SoCal until last year. Yeah, NowhereMan was a good friend as well as an employee - though that person no longer exists as that person once did. For years we gamed together at our weekly LAN parties.

Yeah, they have LAN parties every Friday evening, from 9PM to Saturday 10AM. Cost is $20 for renting a machine, and $10 for BYOC. I'm there most weeks. A lousy turnout is around 15 people. Good turnouts can be 40 people. They're having a 3 day LAN party next weekend (10/27-10/29) to commemorate the last LAN at the current location - they're moving to a better location. If you have any questions about the place, PM me. If you like LAN parties you definately have to go there, unless you like driving. I also go to some other LAN parties near Chicago that are really fun.

From SoCal to Kenosha...there's a cultural change, eh?

About like moving from MI to the Central Valley, only in reverse.

I only have three words to say about the Central Valley....Se Habla Español?

Interested in LAN parties?

Once in a while, yeah.

edit: and to keep it on-topic, I flashed my board with the file from ParkerLewis's link. Worked like a charm. Much much better. Running at 2.7 (210Mhz bus) right now, will play with it more later.
