I have read practically every thread in the official and this Neo4 thread looking for answers, so I thought I would post my dilema here as well.

I recently in the last month purchased this mobo in hopes of getting a good overclock. I recently got new memory (had twinx Corsair PC3200 512MB, now twinx Corsair PC4400 1GB). I was a socket A OC veteran, but A64 is new territory for me.

My current setup:

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (non SLI)
A64 3200 socket 939 90nm Winchester
2x512 Corsair twinx PC4400 @ 2.5-3-3-10
XFX GeforceFX 6600GT
Seagate Barracuda IV 120GB ATA100
Antec Truepower 550W PSU
Thermaltake K8 Venus Silent boost HSF

Everything was swell when I started OC'ing. I was up to 10x220, no problems. I tried 10x230, and it was a no go. I had already dropped my HTT to 4, and made sure my memory had 2.75v (what Corsair recommends). I also bumped the chipset voltage to 1.65. After doing this, windows booted up. I was running a benchmark in Sandra 2005, and it locked. Ok, I thought I might need to give the processor a little voltage bump. So, I think I put it to 1.45v. So, when I hit F10 to save and exit, the system just shut down, and the power light on my case started flashing. It would not reboot. I had to clear the CMOS, and set everything back to stock. It almost seems like if I try OC now, the system does this. Anyone else had this problem, or know of a solution?

Update:

Ok, have done some more messing around. I am not having any problems with complete shutdown if I just tell it to increase CPU voltage to +8.3% (trying to give it a definate value seemed to shut it down). I have booted and run sandra at 9x250, HTT x3, memory 2.5-3-3-10 1:1, and everything was working just fine. However, if I try to reboot, it will not beep, and the monitor light just flashes like its not getting a signal. I can change settings in the bios, and most of the time boot into windows and play games, benchmark, etc. however, if I reboot, or shut down and try to reboot, it won't come back up. This is very frustrating!!

Hi, Im thinking of buying the following setup:

* MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum, nForce4 Ultra
* Crucial PC4000 BallistiX DDR 512MB CL2,5
* AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester
* Hiper Nätaggregat Type R Silver ATX480W
* Sapphire Radeon X850XT 256MB GDDR3PCI Express, DVI-I,Tv-Out, Retail
* Western Digital Caviar 200GB S-ATA8MB cache 7200RPM

This is the first setup I have ever put together so if anyone see any problems with it, please comment.
I know I should buy a custom CPU-cooler but I dont know wich one I should get, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

i have an neo4 ultra motherboard, and a 3000+ processor, i'm having some truble getting past 219 HTT, if it is 220, 221,223 etc.. it doesn't boot, not even into the bios. i have tried many things and i was wondering what you guys think i should try (350 W power supply) I've uped the voltage 3.3%, turned my ram down to 100 Mhz, uped the NF4 V to top "safe" level. i have had it up to 221 for one time, then i tried to go higher and it died, and i didn't know what i did..but that could have been a glitch. my ram is at 3-auto-auto...everything is auto in the ram. thanks for the help

What's supposed to come in the Platinum SLI box...everything says optional in the manual. I only got the sata cables, a sata power cable, 1 floppy, 1 EIDE cable and the SLI bridge. No Diagnostic header, no usb headers, no firewire header....and of course no Dual Net which was a given.

It's the blue tooth/wireless G adapter that's well sort of infamous with the Diamond (U.K. version) of this motherboard.

Regardless of what newegg shows, the motherboard box, and manual....everything is now classifed as optional by MSI including the freaking Quick Start Guide.

I am looking for someone who has gotten a recent version of this board to let me know what should be included with it.

I am thinking I may not have gotten the diagnosic header, but should have gotten at least a usb one, perhaps firewire even.

Dolby Digital Encoding (for games), anyone know for sure?

The question boils down to, in Doom3 will I get 6.1 (or whatever) out of the coax digital out to my stereo reciever, or 2 channels? I know DVD passthrough will work either way.

Here's a good thread explaining it in more detail relating to an add-in card:

http://forums.sudhian.com/messagevi...2&enterthread=y

Here's a thread talking about it on this motherboard, it seems to say yes (but throws in a big ? at the end):

http://www.3dss-forums.com/cgi-bin/...b=5&o=14&fpart=

I'm not sure I care too much, I've got 5.1 analog for my gaming and digital out for DVD watching (going to a projector). It'd be nice to know in case I end up playing games and such on this board using my projector. The soundblaster native is one of the main reasons I'm looking at buying this board.
