MSI (Microstar) 694d-pro motherboard with Dual cpu

Hi everyone,

Hi, so sad...I just got my msi 694d-pro today and I also bought a promise Ultra66 card along since I have 5 hard drives and 1 burner and a cdrom. It has problem right away I tried to turn the computer on...

Problem 1: the computer won't bootup if I have my Creative nvidia Geforce2 GTS 32mb agp video card plug-in. Now I'm just using my old ATI 4mb pci video card.

Problem 2: The computer will lock-up during the installation of win2k if I have 2 cpus plug-in. I solved it by listening to what you people said. Installed win2k successfully with only 1 cpu.

Problem 3: The computer won't work (lock-up) everytime at the same spot (the white screen where the win2k trying to load up) if I have 2 cpus plug-in (this is after the installation using 1 cpu).

Problem 4: The motherboard does not detect 2 cpus. It only shows 1 cpu detected.

Issue 5: Do I need to install anything from the CD that came along with the motherboard?

Can anyone please help me on this? Thank you so much and everything.

I have installed win2k professional with:

1cpu (celeron 466 - PPGA)
1 Infineon 128 pc100 ram
ATI 4mb pci video card (my creative nvidia won't work)
1 pci network card from cable company
1 SoundBlasterLive !Value
1 Creative 52x CDROM
1 Yamaha 4416 CDRW
1 Maxtor 40gig ata66 7200rpm hd
1 Maxtor 20gig ata66 7200rpm hd
1 IBM 13gig ata66 7200rpm hd
1 Fujitsu 13gig ata66 7200rpm hd

Please, would anyone can give me a hand on this, I'll be very appreciated. I'm still left with 1 cpu (466 celeron PPGA) and my Creative nvidia Geforce2 GTS 32mb Video Card on my hand...and trying to use them....thank you.

I already installed the newest official Via 4in1 and flash my bios to 1.5

Damn, you have problems! I had none before, during or after installation. Bios detected 2 CPU's right from the start, Win2k installed without a problem.

Here is my system:
Dual PIII 700MHz @ 800Mhz
MSI 694D-Pro factory bios.
256MB Infineon
Voodoo5
ATA100 Promise controller w/ IBM GXP 30GB
Adaptec Ultra160
Plextor SCSI CD-R
Kenwood 62xCD-ROM
SBLive X-Gamer
Linksys 10/100 v4

Look at that and see what you think, by the way I didn't intall anything from the MSI driver disk, only the MSI PC AlertIII utility. Runs great!

Not sure if this will help, but will this board support dual celerons.

Well, according to my manual, and MSI's website, it only supprots FC-PGA PIII's. Hmm...? Though It has to support Celerons, becuase of the bus speed 66mhz, and are there 533, and 566 PIII's?

Ohh...looks like Single CPU support only for Celeron.
